Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo District will host the inaugural Seonyudo Festival from October 25 to 27, offering a vibrant mix of cultural activities, performances, and eco-friendly programs. The festival will take place at Seonyudo Park, a well-known eco-rehabilitation space, and along the "Walkable Street" connecting Seonyudo Station and the park, inviting both locals and visitors to enjoy the autumn atmosphere.

The festival, titled "Seonyudo Garden Festival," will feature the "October in Seonyu" event along the walkable street. As a key part of the festival, this event will showcase performances and exhibits organized by local artists, community groups, students, and residents. Visitors can also explore various booths, including hands-on craft experiences, a flea market, and a food market offering a variety of local delicacies.

Seonyudo Park, known for its transformation from an industrial site into Korea’s first ecological restoration park, will offer programs that highlight its unique history and environment. Guided docent tours will share stories about the park’s past and present, while activities such as the "Seonyudo Treasure Island" exploration and "Seonyudo Campnic" will allow attendees to discover the park interactively and engagingly. As part of the "Campnic," visitors can enjoy a romantic sunset picnic within the scenic natural surroundings.

A concert featuring singer Choi Baek-ho and pianist Kim Jeong-won will be held at 7 p.m. on October 26, bringing a musical highlight to the festival. In addition, earlier that day, KBS’s National Singing Contest will be recording its finals at the Yanghwa Hangang Park soccer field at 2 p.m., adding a lively broadcast event to the festival lineup.

Another notable feature of the festival will be the "Fresh Beer Zone" near Seonyudo Station, where attendees can unwind with a refreshing drink in the cool autumn evening air. The festival promises a dynamic blend of cultural experiences, food, and entertainment, making it a destination for both locals and tourists alike.

To accommodate the expected influx of visitors, Yeongdeungpo District has taken measures to ensure the smooth flow of the event. Temporary portable restrooms will be installed in Seonyudo Park, and traffic in the area will be controlled to prioritize pedestrian safety. From 5 a.m. on October 26 to 9 p.m. on October 27, the 200-meter stretch between Seonyudo Station’s Exit 3 and the back gate of Dangsan Elementary School will be completely closed to vehicular traffic.

Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon emphasized the significance of the Seonyudo Festival, stating, "We are preparing for this festival to become a flagship event, attracting both domestic and international tourists and setting a new standard for local festivals hosted by municipalities."

The Seonyudo Festival is expected to highlight the cultural and environmental significance of the park while offering a wide range of entertainment options for all ages. It is an opportunity to celebrate the harmonious blend of nature and urban life in the heart of Seoul, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a refreshing and culturally rich autumn weekend.
