Art Sonje Center Space and Space ISU will hold artist Rinus Van de Velde's solo exhibition, 'I Want to Eat Mangos in the Bathtub', until May 12.

Rinus is a contemporary artist who explores cyclical narratives across reality and fiction through various genres such as painting, installation, sculpture, and video.

Through this exhibition, the artist expresses his journey with his unique imagination through paintings, sculptures, and video works.

In the exhibition, the artist goes on an adventure to meet master artists such as Henri Matisse (1869-1954), Emil Nolde (1867-1956), and Piet Mondrian (1872-1944).

In particular, the artist organized an exhibition centered on works based on "fictional autobiography" that made him an outside light artist in the early 20th century, allowing him to focus on his recent work world.

I Want to Eat Mangos in the Bathtub, the name of the work and exhibition, quoted Henri Matisse as saying when he traveled to southern France to find the right light to paint.

The artist identifies himself as a 20th-century beast painter, paradoxically revealing that he can go on an imaginary journey to an exotic world while immersing himself in a warm bathtub.
