A revolutionary hookah lounge and restaurant in Dubai has achieved a Guinness World Record for creating the world's largest 3D-printed structure by volume. MYATA Platinum Lounge, designed by DA bureau, opened in 2025 in the prestigious City Walk district, transforming the traditional concept of hookah lounges into a premium luxury experience.

The 400-square-meter establishment was conceived as an escape from Dubai's fast-paced urban environment, offering visitors a transition from the bustling glass metropolis into what designers describe as a dark 'cave' that envelopes guests in coolness and organic natural forms. The design team, led by architects Anna Lvovskaia, Boris Lvovskii, and their colleagues, drew inspiration from Sand Canyon formations to create flowing, amorphous structures that constantly evolve and merge into one another.

The centerpiece of MYATA Platinum's design lies in its groundbreaking use of 3D printing technology. The team created 27 unique 'canyon' structures using 150 3D printers, with 85 of these formations being completely one-of-a-kind designs. These whimsical fluted structures were printed from plastic and coated with specialized texture paint, creating an introverted, inward-looking space that divides the interior into separate chamber zones while forming an isolated terrace outside.

The architectural layout follows a deliberate funnel principle at the entrance, narrowing progressively to draw visitors from the street into the lounge space. Guests cannot see the interior from the facade or entrance hall, creating a journey reminiscent of traveling through a cave system – moving through narrow, dark passages before emerging into large, open spaces. This design philosophy emphasizes the transition from external urban energy to internal peace and contemplation.

The ground floor features open seating areas, two full-service VIP sections, a dedicated hookah bar, and a cocktail bar. To create a striking natural-modern contrast, two minimalist lightboxes hover above the main room, bathing the space in colored illumination. The mirrored walls on the first floor create an illusion of infinite space, while the upper level houses a hypnotically glowing bar that echoes the lightboxes below, along with several secluded VIP zones.

Lighting design played a crucial role in bringing the canyon concept to life. Working with YARKO lighting design studio, the team developed a unique illumination system that bathes the dark lounge space in soft amber light emanating from various corners. This 'sunset' lighting emphasizes the complex topography of the canyon formations, tables, and bar counters, while special art effects highlight hookah steam clouds and create hypnotic halo effects throughout the space.

The project represents a significant achievement in architectural innovation, combining cutting-edge 3D printing technology with hospitality design. By employing these unique spatial manipulation methods, DA bureau has created an interior environment that successfully guides visitors from external engagement to internal focus, fostering emotional closeness in communication while providing an unprecedented luxury hookah lounge experience in Dubai's competitive hospitality market.
