Fifteen bronze sculptures of Philippe Geluck's beloved comic strip character, Le Chat (The Cat), will be displayed at Lyon's Parc de la Tête d'Or starting October 3, 2025, through March 1, 2026. The exhibition marks another stop in the touring collection that has already captivated over 10 million visitors across Europe.

The sculptures will be strategically placed along the pathway connecting the Children of the Rhône gate to the park's renowned rose garden in Lyon's 6th arrondissement. This scenic route through one of France's largest urban parks will provide an ideal backdrop for Geluck's whimsical and poetic bronze cats. The Belgian cartoonist expressed his enthusiasm about the venue, stating on Lyon's official website, "The exhibition location we were offered, the Parc de la Tête d'Or, is magical! We are preparing this with great enthusiasm."

Before arriving in Lyon, these distinctive sculptures have made successful stops in major European cities including Brussels, Paris, Bordeaux, Caen, Geneva, Montreux, and Guérande. Each location has contributed to the growing audience of admirers who have encountered Geluck's three-dimensional interpretations of his famous feline character.

Complementing the outdoor exhibition, the Estades Gallery will present an indoor showcase from October 4 to November 15, 2025. This parallel exhibition will feature a curated selection of Geluck's acrylic paintings, original drawings, screen prints, and smaller sculptures. These works demonstrate how The Cat character explores themes related to art, society, and language with characteristic lightness and humor.

Philippe Geluck's career spans multiple creative disciplines, having worked as an actor, television and radio host, and chronicler before establishing himself as a painter and sculptor. His iconic Cat character first appeared on March 3, 1983, created for a commission from the Brussels newspaper Le Soir. This fall, Geluck will publish a new album titled "The Origin of the Cat" through Casterman Editions, continuing the character's literary journey that began over four decades ago.
