Childhood friends Aurélie Geoffroy and Mickaël Leclercq are displaying 80 photographs together at the municipal exhibition hall on the upper floor of App'Art in Joigny. The exhibition, which runs until October 8, features a diverse collection of nature photography, detailed shots of cars, architectural images, and various natural subjects.

Both photographers have been practicing their craft for ten years and share a long-standing friendship. Leclercq joined the Atelier Photos Passion in Joigny four years ago and has since become its president, while Geoffroy joined the workshop three years later. Despite their shared involvement in the photography group, they approach their art with different philosophies.

Leclercq explains his relationship with the workshop: "I can't really say that I learned at the workshop - it's more like I'm the one giving advice. But what I enjoy are the interactions and the outings." He emphasizes that photography is fundamentally about sharing experiences with others. "Posting pictures on social media isn't enough to convey emotions," he says. "That's why exhibiting them is really the best way to share."

Geoffroy takes a contrasting approach to her photography. "I do this for myself, and honestly, I don't particularly want to show my work, even though I enjoy participating in exhibitions organized by the workshop," she explains. "This exhibition is different. Mickaël proposed it to me, and since he's a childhood friend, I said yes. It's a project we formed four years ago."

For this exhibition, Leclercq has experimented with long exposure and zooming techniques in his photographs. "I'm experimenting," he says. "I was very curious about the effect of zooming, and I'm very happy with the result." Meanwhile, Geoffroy has developed a particular fondness for detail photography, especially of automobiles. She traveled to the Magny-Cours racing circuit to get as close as possible to the vehicles and capture their texture and lighting.

The exhibition is included in the program for European Heritage Days on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21, alongside all the city's art galleries. Visitors can view the photographs from Wednesday to Friday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the exhibition continuing through October 8.
