The French Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (SCAM) has announced the opening of applications for the Prix Roger Pic 2026, offering a €5,000 prize to the creator of an outstanding photographic portfolio. The annual award recognizes documentary photography that captures reality while examining humanity with unique perspective and artistic vision.
Photographers have until November 30, 2025, to submit their applications for consideration. The prestigious prize celebrates the art of documentary photography that goes beyond mere documentation to offer meaningful insights into the human condition and contemporary social issues.
The Prix Roger Pic serves as a tribute to the generous and humanistic vision of Roger Pic, a renowned photographer, filmmaker, and advocate for authors' rights. The award honors his legacy of using visual storytelling to explore human experiences and social realities with compassion and artistic integrity.
SCAM presents this award in partnership with Fisheye magazine, a respected publication in the photography community. This collaboration brings together institutional support and editorial expertise to recognize exceptional talent in documentary photography.
The judging panel is renewed annually and comprises diverse expertise from the photography world. The jury includes the president of the SCAM-Velasquez association, members of SCAM's still images commission, and distinguished external personalities from the photography field, including Véronique de Viguerie, who was the winner of the previous edition of the prize.
