The Hors Format Collective is marking its fifth anniversary with a special celebration by hosting a complimentary photography workshop designed for both professional and emerging photographers. The event is being organized in collaboration with Sony France, bringing together industry expertise and cutting-edge technology to support the photography community.
Scheduled for November 27 and 28, 2025, the Hors Format x Sony France Workshop will take place at Le Sample, located at Porte de Bagnolet near Paris. The venue is easily accessible by metro, tram, and Vélib bike-sharing system. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, providing participants with comprehensive programming throughout the event.
Several distinguished members of the Hors Format Collective will lead the two-day intensive program, including Juliette Pavy, Robin Tutenges, and Léo Keler, among other notable photographers. The workshop will focus on critical aspects of professional photography, featuring in-depth discussions and knowledge sharing sessions centered around the design and development of photographic projects, strategies for selling photography subjects, and the dynamics of collective work in the photography industry.
A key highlight of the workshop will be the opportunity for participants to present their own photography projects, whether they are currently in progress or already completed. Attendees will benefit from constructive feedback and professional insights from the collective members and fellow participants, creating a valuable networking and learning environment for photographers at various stages of their careers.
The workshop is offered completely free of charge, though participation is subject to a selection process to ensure the most engaged and committed participants. Interested photographers must submit their applications by October 30, 2025, to the email address collectifhorsformatgmail.com.
The application package must include three essential components: a brief biographical statement about the applicant, a carefully curated portfolio containing a maximum of 20 images from a current project, and a presentation text limited to 500 words maximum. All materials must be compiled into a single PDF document with the specific naming convention: LastName_FirstName_Workshop_HF2025.
Applicants are required to use file-sharing services such as Swisstransfer or Smash for submission due to the large file sizes typically associated with high-quality photography portfolios. Additional information about the workshop and the Hors Format Collective can be found on their Instagram account and official website, providing prospective participants with further details about this unique professional development opportunity.
