A husband-and-wife architecture team is celebrating the successful launch of their new studio in what's being called Macclesfield's emerging 'property quarter.' Hamer Way Architects, founded by Sophie and Rhys Way, opened their doors over the summer and couldn't be happier with the response from the local community.

Sophie Way expressed enthusiasm about their first few weeks in the new location, saying the space has made them feel much more connected to the town and its residents. "We've already had people drop by to say they need an architect, which is exactly what we hoped for," she explained. The couple has maintained an open-door policy, welcoming visitors whether they need advice, want to discuss home projects, or simply chat about design ideas.

Established in 2017, Hamer Way Architects has built a strong reputation for delivering creative and highly personalized architectural solutions. Their new studio, located just around the corner from their previous base in Waters Green House, provides a more public-facing environment that opens up greater opportunities for community engagement. The move represents a strategic shift toward making architecture more accessible to the general public.

The couple has ambitious plans for their new space, including launching 'Meet the Architect' sessions, creative displays, and design workshops. These initiatives aim to demystify the architectural process and make it more approachable for homeowners, developers, and curious community members. "We've always wanted to create a space that feels open, welcoming and part of the town," Sophie explained. "Architecture can seem out of reach for a lot of people – this move is about changing that perception and inviting more conversation around good design."

Rhys Way emphasized their diverse project portfolio and growth ambitions, noting that while they love working on private homes, they also enjoy the challenge of commercial, retrofit, and apartment projects. "This new space gives us room to grow and connect with other people in the property world – it's about building relationships as much as buildings," he said. The new location provides the firm with the physical space and visibility needed to expand their operations and client base.

The Hamer Way studio is housed in the Kathleen Roylance Building on Waters Green, strategically positioned within what Sophie describes as Macclesfield's 'property quarter.' This area includes other property-related businesses such as Bespoke by Northwood estate agents, creating a concentrated hub of real estate and design professionals. The location choice reflects the couple's intention to be at the heart of the local property and development community while remaining accessible to individual homeowners seeking architectural services.
