The Korean Cultural Center in Poland is inviting the public to celebrate Chuseok, one of Korea's most significant traditional holidays, through a special four-day cultural experience event in October. The free event will run from Monday, October 6 through Thursday, October 9, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into Korean harvest festival traditions.
Chuseok represents a cornerstone of Korean culture, serving as a time when families across the country gather to express gratitude and celebrate the autumn harvest. This traditional holiday holds deep cultural significance as it brings together multiple generations to honor ancestors and share in the abundance of the season. The Warsaw-based cultural center aims to share this meaningful celebration with the Polish community and international visitors.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on traditional Korean activities throughout the event. The program includes making yeon, traditional Korean kites that have been flown for centuries, and playing ttakji, a popular Korean paper tile game that tests skill and strategy. These interactive experiences are designed to provide visitors with an authentic understanding of Korean recreational culture and traditional pastimes that have been passed down through generations.
A special exhibition area will showcase carefully curated boxes filled with various elements of Korean culture, offering visitors a comprehensive view of the country's rich heritage. The event will take place at the Korean Cultural Center in Poland, located at Leona Kruczkowskiego 8 in Warsaw, with daily sessions running from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
