The Korean Cultural Center in Poland is hosting a special four-day cultural experience event to commemorate Hangul Day, celebrating Korea's unique writing system created by King Sejong the Great. The event, running from October 6 through October 9, offers visitors an immersive opportunity to learn about and experience the beauty of Korean calligraphy and culture.
Hangul Day, observed annually on October 9, commemorates the proclamation of the Korean alphabet in 1446 and honors the excellence and spirit behind King Sejong's creation of this distinctive writing system. The holiday celebrates both the scientific precision and cultural significance of Hangul, which has played a crucial role in Korean literacy and cultural development.
The centerpiece of the event is the Hangul Experience Zone, where participants can try their hand at traditional Korean calligraphy and create beautiful print artworks using the Korean script. This hands-on activity allows visitors to gain a deeper appreciation for the artistic and practical aspects of Hangul writing, experiencing firsthand the elegance and functionality of Korea's writing system.
In addition to the calligraphy activities, the event features a special exhibition area showcasing unique display boxes filled with various elements of Korean culture. These cultural exhibits provide visitors with a broader understanding of Korea's rich heritage and the context in which Hangul developed and flourished.
The event takes place at the Korean Cultural Center in Poland, located at Leona Kruczkowskiego 8 in Warsaw. Daily sessions run from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Admission is completely free, and no prior registration is required, making the event accessible to anyone interested in Korean culture.
Organizers encourage visitors to bring friends and family members to experience the richness of Korean culture together. This inclusive approach reflects the Korean Cultural Center's mission to promote cultural exchange and understanding between Korea and Poland through engaging, educational activities that celebrate Korea's unique cultural heritage.
