South Korean girl group Blackpink has reached a significant milestone as their music video for "Kill This Love" surpasses 1.9 billion views on YouTube, as confirmed by their label, YG Entertainment, on Monday. This accomplishment follows the success of their previous hit, "Ddu-du Ddu-du," making Blackpink the first K-pop artist to achieve two videos with over 1.9 billion views.

Released in April 2019, the "Kill This Love" music video emerged as one of the top 10 most-viewed music videos in 2023. The accompanying song also secured a spot on Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 41, setting a record for a K-pop girl group at that time. Additionally, the track headlined the mini album of the same title, which debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 24, marking another milestone for a K-pop female band.

In a separate development, Blackpink, comprising four members, is currently in the process of contract renewal with their label, YG Entertainment. Notably, despite contractual discussions, the group made a notable appearance at Buckingham Palace last month, where King Charles bestowed upon them the title of honorary members of the Order of the British Empire.
