Girl group RESCENE reached No. 1 on major South Korean music charts shortly after releasing its fourth EP, PULSE.
RESCENE—comprising Woni, Liv, Minami, May and Zena—released the five-track EP at 6 p.m. on Nov. 3. Lead single “With” rose to the top of Melon’s Top 100 chart two hours later.
The song also reached No. 1 on Melon’s Hot 100, the Bugs real-time chart and Genie Music’s real-time Top 200 chart.
The remaining four tracks entered the upper ranks of Melon’s charts. “Finest Thing,” “Inside Out,” “MEME” and “Dragon” all placed within the Top 100’s top 10 alongside “With.”
On Melon’s Hot 100, the five songs from PULSE occupied the first five positions. Melon’s official album page lists “Finest Thing,” “With,” “Inside Out,” “MEME” and “Dragon” as the EP’s complete tracklist.
The title PULSE refers to a heartbeat. The album centres on the moment when a song sent to another person returns as a voice that gives the singer renewed momentum.
“With” depicts someone following a calling voice and finally encountering the person they have long imagined. Its lyrical opening develops into a stronger chorus and repeated hook intended to resemble an accelerating heartbeat.
The song also frames the time spent moving toward another person as a promise to continue forward together.
PULSE marks RESCENE’s first release in approximately four months. The group previously gained wider public attention after its 2024 single “Love Attack” made a delayed rise on domestic charts following renewed circulation through online videos and memes.
