The Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation held the FALL IN GAGGUM art market at the central plaza of Lotte Premium Outlets Gimhae from Oct. 30 through Nov. 1.
Organised as part of Gimhae’s 2026 Culture City programme, the event was designed to expand sales opportunities for local artists and small-business owners while introducing regional creative products to the public.
“Gaggeum” is an abbreviation of the Korean phrase meaning “Dream of Gaya.” The cultural content brand brings together designers, artists and independent shops based in Gimhae, a city historically associated with the ancient Gaya confederacy.
A total of 25 booths participated in the market. Products on display included ceramics, glass crafts, household items, stationery, textiles, clothing and key rings. Promotional booths also introduced visitors to the Culture City initiative and the Gaggeum Art Shop.
Jazz and classical vocal performances were held on Oct. 31, while prize events for customers took place throughout the three-day programme.
The art market formed part of a collaborative project between the foundation and Lotte Premium Outlets Gimhae that has continued for five years. The partnership provides local creators with shared opportunities to exhibit, promote and sell their work in a commercial space with regular public traffic.
“The Gaggeum Art Market allows us to broaden the points of contact between local creators and residents,” said Jo Il-ung, head of the Gimhae Culture City Center. “We plan to continue building an environment in which Gimhae’s cultural content can be consumed and shared as part of everyday life.”
