TOMORROW X TOGETHER has released the second set of concept photographs for its forthcoming ninth EP, “PERFECT STORM.”
The five-member group—Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai—unveiled the “EYE OF THE STORM” version through its official social media channels on Oct. 28.
The photographs place the members in dark, weathered clothing amid blurred black figures that appear to move around them. While the surrounding bodies suggest violent wind and instability, the members remain still and composed at the centre of the scene.
The images follow the first concept, “RIDE THE STORM,” which depicted the members confronting strong winds in flight suits beside a glider. Where that version presented change as a force to be entered and endured, “EYE OF THE STORM” focuses on a temporary state of calm within continuing disorder.
The two releases form part of a three-stage visual narrative. A final set titled “HOLDING THE STORM” is scheduled for Oct. 30, followed by the concept film “PERFECT STORM IN MOTION” on Oct. 31 and an album preview on Nov. 5.
“PERFECT STORM” contains six tracks addressing the pressures faced by young people moving beyond adolescent fantasy and uncertainty into adult life. The album connects personal ambition, anxiety and unavoidable change with the storm that runs through its visual campaign.
Its title track, “Angel Bite,” centres on the desire to remain beside another person despite the deprivation and instability of an imperfect youth. The other tracks include “Something Different from Before Is Needed (Storm Is…),” “Higher Love,” “Sweetest Escape,” “Touch the Sky” and “Hate It or Love It.”
According to BigHit Music, the EP surpassed 300,000 pre-saves on Spotify and ranked first on the platform’s Top 10 Countdowns list for three consecutive days from Oct. 26 to 28. Spotify describes the list as a daily global ranking of the 10 release pages with the most pre-saves.
“PERFECT STORM” will be released at 6 p.m. KST on Nov. 16. The physical album is available in three standard editions corresponding to the “RIDE THE STORM,” “EYE OF THE STORM” and “HOLDING THE STORM” concepts.
